Integrated Potentiometer Control (IPC)

Integrated Potentiometer Control (IPC)

Part Number: IPC

Alicat’s Integrated Potentiometer Control (IPC) is a convenience feature that makes adjustment of the control setpoint on almost any Alicat mass flow, liquid flow or pressure controller as easy as the turn of a knob. The IPC, or “pot”, is a knob that sits on top of the controller and allows tactile adjustment of the analog setpoint by turning the dial. The new setpoint displays on the screen without any need for interacting with the instrument’s touchpad display interface.

To operate your controller using an IPC, “Analog” must be selected in the setpoint source setup screen. (Units ordered with the IPC option come with this selection already made.) In a crunch, a connected analog input signal will override the IPC setting, but this is not a preferred configuration. In this case, the IPC dial should be set to the midpoint. To use the display touchpad to adjust the setpoint, change the setpoint source to “Front Panel.”
