Standard Duty Dry Vacuum Pumps

Standard duty dry vacuum pumps serve as essential components in applications requiring consistent, oil-free vacuum generation. Orange Coast Pneumatics partners with world leading manufacturer Welch to provide reliable vacuum solutions that meet diverse operational requirements across laboratory and industrial settings.

WOB-L® Piston Standard Duty Dry Vacuum Pumps

Welch Standard Duty* vacuum pumps use dry, oil-free WOB-L® Piston technology to deliver industry-leading, strong pumping dynamics that support filtration, drying, aspiration, parts forming, and other rough vacuum applications. These innovative pumps eliminate the contamination risks associated with oil-sealed designs while delivering stable vacuum performance. The dry running technology ensures clean operation, making these units ideal for sensitive applications in analytical laboratories, research facilities, and specialized manufacturing processes.

Design features focus on operational reliability and maintenance accessibility. Advanced coating technologies protect internal components from wear, while optimized cooling systems ensure stable operation under continuous duty cycles. The absence of oil elimination systems simplifies maintenance requirements while reducing operational costs.

There are 17 models available, with free air displacement from 0.4 cfm to 7.1 cfm, and ultimate vacuum pressure as deep as 5 Torr. All keep strong pumping speeds to near their ultimate vacuum pressure. Several models have vacuum controllers with gauges, and some are designed for OEM and production settings. Several models are UL component certified; all have 1PH motors with built in thermal overload protection.

Common Applications

Welch Standard Duty dry vacuum pumps can be used for such vacuum applications as cell culture media sterile filtering/aspiration, DNA/RNA/Plasmid extraction, vacuum ovens, vacuum filtering, vacuum bag parts forming, sampling, cell harvesters, pick and place, package integrity testing, turbidity testing, Rice porosity testing, air sampling and many other laboratory and industrial applications.

FAQs

What distinguishes standard duty dry vacuum pumps from other vacuum technologies?
Welch standard duty dry vacuum pumps operate without oil in the compression chamber, eliminating potential sample contamination and simplifying maintenance. These pumps typically offer ultimate vacuum levels suitable for analytical and light industrial applications while providing clean, consistent performance without oil changes or disposal concerns.

How do I select the right pump capacity for my application?
Selection starts with determining your required ultimate vacuum level and pumping speed requirements. We'll help evaluate factors like process volume, cycle time requirements, and operating pressure range to recommend appropriate models. This ensures optimal performance while avoiding oversizing and unnecessary energy consumption.

What environmental conditions affect pump performance?
Operating temperature, humidity, and elevation can impact vacuum pump performance. These pumps typically perform best in clean, temperature-controlled environments between 10-40°C. We can provide specific environmental guidelines based on your selected model to ensure reliable operation.
